Observation
Or, how a Tesla leads to a rant in haiku...
The black matte Tesla
parked outside the train station
looks like a chalkboard
-
empty – no lessons,
no assignments given out,
only unchecked wealth
-
would that I had chalk,
I might leave a message there –
but what would I say?
-
“This car is a sign
of all that is hideous
in the world right now.”
-
That would be foolish.
For all I know, the owner
bought the car before
-
all the things we’ve learned
about Tesla’s inventor
were revealed on X
-
gone are the days when
Tesla – matte or otherwise –
meant its driver was
-
energy-conscious,
eco-friendly, concerned with
rampant climate change
-
now it’s just a sign:
consumerism awry.
An empty chalkboard.
